memorise
Sunday, January 31, 2010 @ 11:30 PM
it was said that the best time for you to memorise your work is right before you sleep, so that when you sleep, your brain can process whatever you have learnt before that.. i tried it for my QA notes back in sec 4, and it works.. let's hope and pray that it will work for me tonight.. dear Allah, please let me memorise my vocab so that i will be able to do tmr's quiz.. and each and every quiz is impt because this arab module has no exam, so it's continual assesment.. dear allah, let me rmbr my vocab when i wake up for dawn tmr, and on my way to school, and during lesson and finally the last 10 mins quiz and if possible, till forever (o.0).. amiinnn.. =)

i think it's time for me to update.. oh wells..
january 2010.. alhamdulillah, i think everything went on quite well so far.. came back to school for sem 2, and i love it thus far.. i love all the modules and tutors and lecturers that i am having (ok, except for the one with a super pekat korean accent, but i tink and hope that i'll get used to his accent soon enough).. this few months, i'll be busy wiht both school and cca commitment.. alhamdulillah, yesterday's mss collaboration with pbmuks regarding the emergence of the malay underclass went on very well, despite the slight kegenjotan, but biasalah, mana ada benda yang perfect dalam dunia ni kan? =) special thanks to all who came, especially those from ntu, sim and smu who took their time off to come down to nus to participate in this forum.. =) insya'allah kalau ada kesempatan lagi we would very much like to host another forum like this again.. =)
come february and march, things will go a little bit busier since mss have to prepare for deklamasi sajak competition, so yeah with all the projects coming along, the fieldtrips and whatnots, outside and inside commitments, i think i will really be worn out.. =x but nevertheless, if you wanna meet up or anything, or if you think you miss me or something like that, just give me a ring lah eh, i'll try to fit it in into the schedule.. =)
i have a low self esteem, not that i never tried to get rid of that, i never gave up trying, but i can't.. i think the best way out is to just be happy and be thankful with what i'm blessed with huh? and i thank god for everything.. =)
ok i have to get back to my readings, they are calling me already.. leaving you with a lame joke..
qn: how do you make an odd number, 7, even?
ans: take out the 's'
-____________________-" yeah, i know, but i tink it's funny.. haha.. =)
ok people, ma'asalamah! =)

There was this beautiful woman, who wanted to get married, but she wanted a very pious husband, so she said that she'll marry the man who recites the whole Quran every single day, fasts for the whole year and stays awake and worships Allah all throughout the night. She was a very beautiful woman, and a lot of suitors wanted to marry her, but they knew they couldn't fulfill the conditions she set. Until this one man stepped forward and said he could fulfill them. So the Imam got both of them married.
After the first night of the marriage, the wife sees that the husband doesn't recite the whole of the Quran, nor does he fast, nor does he stay awake in the worship of Allah, she decided to let it roll on for a few weeks to see if there were any changes, there weren't, so she filed a complaint and asked for a divorce.
They are both taken in front of the judge, and the judge asked, 'What were the conditions of the marriage?' the man replied 'They were for me to recite the whole Quran daily, keep fast for the whole year and to worship Allah all throughout the night.'
The Judge asked, 'did you fulfill them? The man calmly answered, '.yes.' The judge answers, 'you lie; your wife has said that you don't, that's why she's asking for a divorce'. But the man insisted that he had fulfilled the conditions, so the judge asked, 'did you recite the full Quran every day?' The man answered yes. The Judge, baffled asked, 'how? How can you do that?' The man coolly answered, 'I recite Surah Ikhlas three times a day and according to Prophet Muhammad (sallala ali wasslam), reciting Surah Ikhlas three times is equivalent to reciting the whole Quran.'
The Judge was intrigued, so he asked, 'how did you fast the whole year?' The man answered, ' I fasted for the whole month of Ramadan, then kept another six fasts in the month of Shawwal, according to Prophet Muhammad (sallala ali wasslam), keeping all of the fast of Ramadan then keeping six fasts in the month of Shawwal, is as if you have fasted for the whole year.'
The Judge remained silent, he couldn't give a reply saying the man was wrong, so finally he asked, 'how did you stay awake all night and worship Allah, when your wife saw you sleeping?' The Judge thought the man wouldn't be able to answer this one, but the man, cool as a cucumber answered, 'I prayed Salatul Isha with jamaat, then the next day prayed Salatul Fajr with jamaat, according to Prophet Muhammad (sallala ali wasslam), the one who prays Salatul Isha and Salatul Fajr with jamaat, it is as if he had stayed up all night worshipping Allah.'
The Judge sat there looking at the man; the final verdict was about to be released. He said to the man and his wife, '.go, just go, there is nothing wrong with this marriage'. Moral of the Story- Islam is not hard, it is great.

apex ta'aruf session
Saturday, January 16, 2010 @ 9:16 PM
apex's ta'aruf session with the kids today was awesome. :):):) i loike.. last week was the ta'aruf session with the mentors ourselves and this week, with the kids.. there's three mentors in my group, one specialising in each subjects, english maths and science, handling 6 mentees.. so the system is such that at any one point in time, two mentees will be with a mentor studying what the mentor specialises in, and after each hour they will switch.. i am specialising in maths.. and so, i have 2 boys and 4 girls in my group.. and these people are small kids with really big aspirations, and i can see the potential in them.. i believe that with god's grace, they will do well if they put in much much much effort in especially maths since our group as a whole is relatively weak in this subject.. may Allah guide us and help the apex mentors to achieve our dreams of helping the madrasah kids to excel in their psle, insya'allah, since this is their first step to success and they, undoubtedly will form the future asatizahs of singapore in future.. looking forward for mentoring to start next week! =)
